They moaned at me for having a stack of cash while I landed on "Just visiting jail", "Chance" and "Free Parking" etc but then saw the consequences of not having any money invested. I like the generic naming and although I haven't tried the others I think I would prefer that to a themed version like Disney Princesses or Minions etc which might distract from the lessons hidden inside. So the children learn to own businesses for income. The squares are made attractive to children, instead of street names or areas they have generic business activities like "Swimming Pool", "Sweet Shop" and "Bowling Alley". The game has been very cleverly simplified. They laugh when they have a pile of cash coming in and suck when they've got none. I bought it for my daughter(7) and son(3) and they both get it. I would hand on heart recommend this game to anyone considering it or even any of the versions which allow up to 4 players - just brilliant fun. This is a really fun game with nice simple twists to make it faster and suitable for younger players and both of my children have been playing this game even below the recommended age of 5 years old and they have played this quite easily with only a little bit of help and me or Daddy being the banker. The winner is decided when one player becomes bankrupt and if more than two players are left then the one with the most money wins and my children usually trounce us every time even without us cheating for them to win which I suspect may be one of the reasons why they love this game so much. There are 20 Chance cards but they are clearly aimed at speeding the game up and being friendly. There is still Go To Jail, Just Visiting (Jail), Free Parking, Chance Cards and the Go square where you collect money from the banker when you pass Go (2 Notes). The game comes with 4 character figures to choose from Little Hazel the cat, Little Scottie the dog, Toy Car and Toy Boat and each of these has 12 corresponding character sold signs (houses) which you place onto the property square when it is bought. Only 16 properties instead of the 22 properties the adult version has (2 properties per colour) Simpler purchases as instead of houses and hotels you have character tokens Simpler rent (varies from 1 to 5 per property) Less players as there are only 4 character tokens instead of the 8 the adult version has This Junior version is very similar to the adult version but obviously a little simpler with some of the main differences being:. One thing I would recommend doing is having a few food or money bags to pop the character pieces, money, chance cards and tokens into in between games as it saves a lot of messing and sorting out the next time that you want to play as there isn't any sort of sorting area inside the box. We have had this game for a while now and I'll be honest that it is looking a bit tatty now as it has been played with so much. My Children are Monopoly mad and although they love any sort of board game, Monopoly is usually the first one that they ask to play as we have a few versions of Junior Monopoly including this one, the Finding Dory version and the My Little Pony version and they are all basically the same but with slightly different designs.
